Praise the chosen ones

Hi,
This is kind of a weird post but I have just got a praise someone right now because she is actually saving my blogging life. SWEET ELECTRIC!!!. She's called zoe louise and you should definitely visit her blog ( especially if you are a blogger ). I know blogging can be such a mystery with the html and everything. I literally know nothing ( well, I'm learning ) and some people know absolutely everything and their blogs look like heaven in a screen. I start to think... "where did they learn all that?" and zoe louise is one of the chosen ones that is kind enough to share all her angely  wisdom with us dumb ones. She explains everything! From start to finish and if she can't explain it, she leaves links to other chosen ones who can. Also, if you think your brain is going to explode, you can have a break whilst looking at her makeup or skincare labels which are equally... well not helpful because you can't make  a blog based on your knowledge of various hand creams so... interesting. Bye x

How To Be You

Hiya Chummies,
ok for starters that's going to be the first thing to go. Let's start again, shall we?

Hi,
( a lot better ) this post is going to be about feeling ok in your own skin. I always used to try fit in with everyone and have loads of friends but now I'm just going to accept the fact that not everyone likes everyone and you can't try and get people to like you. If they like you, they will be friends with you. 2nd thing. The blog. Recently, doing posts to fit into the whole "beauty and makeup" scheme has felt like a chore for me so from now on I'm going to write posts that make me happy and that I look forward to writing. I know my page views is probably going to go down quite a fair bit but I don't care. I just want people to see me for who I am and not for who I want to be. I hope this has helped you,
See ya' later, Alligator
yep that's got to go too.

Bye x

BEEINSPIRED

Hiya Chummies!
So I went to a farmers market a week ago and came across a small shop called beeinspired and was fascinated by what they do! Basically, they have a... bee farm or whatever and all of their products have honey in them! They don't have anything that isn't needed ( ingredients wise) and have great prices for the value! Their products are made with great care and precision. I got the lip balm and the bath bomb.

I have been using this so much at the moment because I have had very chapped lips due to the cold, It's a very soft and kind on the lips and my lips get quite sensitive when they are chapped. You have to apply this quite frequently and it is a quite wet but is so soothing.

This bath bomb gave me quite a shock when I took it out of the packet. As you would have gathered from the pictures, this is more of a bath bomb formula rather than a solid one. I quite like it a bit more because I was introduced to bath bombs with quite bad quality cheap bath bombs. All bath bombs start of as a powder like this one and it always felt that the ones I was introduced to were moulded just with oil because the water always felt really greasy and oily. This bath bomb made me so sleepy! I think it is because of the lavender in it. But, I do have my bath pillow so I can have a rest...
See ya' later! Alligator.

Burj Khalifa

Hiya Chummies,
If you read my Plane Experiences. Then you will know that I went to Dubai in the half term and went up the tallest building in the world! It is called the Burj Khalifa fornally known as ( Burj Dubai )and is 828m high! The highest observation deck ( the highest the general public can go) is 555m. You can buy flats in it which are pretty pricey...It was opened on 1st October 2009. Here are some pictures of my visit up there!

The Architect (Adrian Smith) got a bit bored when the Burj was finished so he decided to make an ever bigger one! His next building is supposed to 'Cheat The Wind'. It will be called Kingdom Tower and is in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. It is going to be 1008m (more than a kilometer!) It will be finished by 2017 if everything goes to plan and there aren't any delays. Here's a picture of it.

Lush Shower Jelly Review

Hiya Chummies!
Ok so I have decided to pull myself together and get my blog back on track so.. you'll be seeing a lot of me (hopefully). This product has been hanging around in the back of my mind for quite some time now and now I finally have it! I'm talking about the Lush Shower Jelly. The one I bought is called WHOOSH and I thought I'd do a review of it. I bought this product from LUSH.

THE FACTS
Ingredients:
Glycerine
Honey
Water
Sodium laureth sulfate
Propylene Glycol
Carrageenan Extract
Perfume
Fresh
organic lemon juice
Fresh organic lime juice
Grapefruit oil
Rosemary Oil
Geranium Oil
Citral
Gereaniol
Citronellol
Limonene
Linalool
( all the ones with really weird names naturally occur in essentials oils )

How to use:
Get it out of the tub and basically use it like a bar of soap. You can pull it apart to make it easier to hold but I find it prettier in the pot if it is whole.

I used this this morning and I fell in love! It smells like a rainforest. It is so strong and citrusy but it is not unpleasantly strong at all! I was so amazed when I was at the till and they handed me back so much change! This is only £3.50!!!! And lasts forever. Lush is also a beautiful shop to buy products from as they are 100% against animal testing. They don't test anything on animals and they also don't buy any ingredients from places that test on animals. The seeweed extract in this is great for the hair and scalp, surprising because I thought it would make your hair greasy but it doesn't!
All in all, for me it was love at first sight with this product and I can't say enough good stuff about it!

See ya' later, Alligator.
(Although I am reviewing this product, my view is still 100% honest)

    Banksy

    Hiya Chummies!
So right now, I am going through a Banksy faze. His graffiti is awesome. Banksy is a street artist in Bristol (mainly) and is known for his recognisable graffiti style and his politcal messages. The mysterious thing about him is that his real name, birthplace and date of birth are unknown! Here is some of his art ( all pictures from my board on pintrest.)

    Themed blog???

    Hiya Chummies!
If you are a common reader, then you will probably know... That my blog doesn't have a theme!!! Most successful blogs have a theme. Now I thought of being lazy and saying...' Thisisaimee-Lifestyle blogger.' I always find that a bit cheeky because that is basically saying 'Thisisaimee- random person who has nothing specific to blog about blogger'. I've been thinking for a while what to specifically blog about but it's HARD!!! if you have any reccomendations either email them to me at aimeewilmot@gmail.com or dm on insta! @teardrops_on_satin . Some of my ideas, pros and cons

    Makeup blogger!!!
    Pros:
I would be able to learn more about good brands and how to properly use make-up.
There are loads of things you can blog on because of all the kinds and types.
    Cons: I don't know anything about make-up...

    Fashion Blogger!
My question to you... Who would come to me for fashion advice??? I literally know NOTHING  so that is definitely ruled out.
I'm not even going tot try and pretend I know anything about cooking.

That's all the options I have thought of guys!

    Plane Experiences

    Hiya Chummies!
I just came back from Dubai on the plane... god it was awful. Since I was little, I have had a habit of sleeping for takeoff and landing and during the flight I have been wide awake and cranky as hell! My brain always seems to go into depression mode on flights and I always think about the bad things in life and everything and everyone that makes me mad and upset. I then mourn in silence for however long I have stuck in that hell whole... Cheery huh? I am going to share with you my experiences of flights. The ups and the downs, the escape plans and the breakdowns. Let me describe my Dubai flight first.

It was miserable. I was in economy which I didn't mind but I got really angry when they gave me egg for dinner. I HATE egg. Uh... Just writing about it is making me queazy. So I didn't have any dinner. Also, for lunch they gave  me a fruit salad with kiwi in it! a). In America it's a silent rule that if you need to feed a child you don't know you don't give them nuts or kiwi. b). Who puts kiwi in a fruit salad for people they don't know!!!!!!! ( incase you don't know, I am really badly allergic to kiwi and am in risk of anafalactic shock- basically dying...ish search it up!
I know that people always complain about people kicking your seat and that is mostly done by small, annoying young, nose picking little boys. But you get to a whole new level when someone is constantly opening and closing their front pocket the whole time! When you are doing it, you don't really realize that you are, in theory, pulling and pushing at someone's back! The guy behind me clearly doesn't read my blog because it was like, every time he read a word, he put his book away then got it out again for the next word! ( not a very sufficient reading process if you ask me...).

Then you get to the awkwardness of when you are either travelling alone or separated from your travelling buddy on the plane and you need the loo. They are most likely asleep, watching those tiny tvs or eating and you can never pluck up the courage to ask them to move! Is it just me, or does it seem like your seating neighbours have infinite bladders? Also, it seems to me that the only time I EVER  need the loo is when the seatbelt sign is on??? uhhhhh!! middle class problems...
I just want to apologise for not posting lately before I carry on because I have actually been working on and off on this post for a week or two, it is just taking so long! So I won't bore you with this post for much longer.

    The complaining flyer:
There was a man sitting a few seats away from me breaking pretty much as many rules as he could. He had his feet up, seat back, laptop up, no seatbelt... and that was just for take off... Members of staff kept on coming over but couldn't tell him off because they had 'done something unspeakable!' ( apparently ) From what I gathered, something happened like, he booked a business class seat and there was an overflow in business so he was moved to economy. He was very clear on the fact that the airways company ( I'm not saying who I flew with because I actually really like the company!) did everything wrong and that he would NEVER be flying with them again..... ha ha ha!
When we collected our baggage, we waited for 45 minutes until ours came out! ( bearing in mind we had fast passes on our cases) so we got really bored and there was a huge spillage of wine/vinegar all around the conveyer belt and it was mank!
That's all I'm going to bore you with this time ,
    See ya' later, Alligator

    DEFENCES-Band

    Hiya Chummies!
Today I am doing a post to support my brother's band DEFENCES. Now I know what you guys are thinking. 'Sibling love I bet she has to do this, she probably doesn't even like them'.
    LIES
Even if I had never met any of them I would still love their music because it is my style really. They have a longgggg history so that will have to wait for later. Let's meet the current band members.

Singer: Cherry Duesbury ( only girl )
Lead Guitarist: Calum Wilmot ( my brother )
Rhythm Guitarist: Ed Briggs ( also the bands longest lasting member along with Calum )
    Drums: Alex
    Bass Guitar: Kyle

    THE HISTORY:
This is going to be a long one guys...

They went through a lot of names:
    STONE CARRAT
    STORM
    FLATLINE
DEFENCES ( I think they are sticking with this one )

    The band ( routes ) started in 2008, ( that's a long time )
The band member that left a long time ago that I remember very well was Alex Rodzianko. He was another guitarist. I remember him so clearly because he was one of Calum's good friends. I'm not really sure why he left Storm but he did. Shortly after March 2011. Their first big gig. In March 2011 The band (at that point they were called Storm), went to Grovestock. Grovestock is a music festival where anyone can enter under certain categories and there is a winner from each division. There are is also an overall winner. Storm won their division and they whole thing! I also entered with a duet with my amazing friend Rudi who I went to primary school with. We were always duet partners and have participated in a number of singing competitions together. Major Chummie Alert! We didn't win any prizes but left feeling very happy as the judges commented on how we were dressed so awesomely! We were so cute!

That was that. My best memory of Grovestock is once they had won and they did a big performance outside and the singer, and I quote, said this. 'PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER!!!... please'.
Before Grovestock, they did a lot of gigs about the Hampton Summer Fair ( That is where they went to school). I was always their little groupie! awww
I said earlier on that Ed was also one of the longest lasting members of the band. Along with Calum. They were in it at the beginning will be in it 'till the end. They have worked really hard together and make an awesome pair. That band turned into Stone Carrat.

Stone Carrat slowly broke down but Calum and Ed stayed positive! They went on a website that people make a profile on if they want to make a band. It is called' join my band'... real original huh?
they eventually found a few people and formed Stone Carrat v.2 that eventually broke down as well because one of the guys was late 20's and got a proper job and he kinda was the singer... so DEFENCES was BORN!!!!!!!!
Calum and Ed were racking their brains for good band names. To get me to shut up when Ed was over, they would get me to think of names ( none of them were any good...)

    DEFENCES NOW
Defences are getting bigger and bigger now. For most bands, this would be the breaking point because the members are going off to Uni. But quite the opposite for Defences. They are getting offered gigs all the time! This is their full EP ( small album ). The screaming is Ed.
They are most often supporting  bands for other major bands. I don't know much about their gigs because I am never allowed to go because I am too young but I am pretty sure that the main venues they peform at are The Garage and Camdon Underground. Their is some info. about Defences on this website if you want to know more about them. They also have a manager if you want to contact the band about businessy stuff ( I'm 12, how am I meant to know what any of it means!!!???!!!
That's all I have got for you today guys!
    See ya later, Alligator
    p.s- ( It's my 13 birthday in 12 days!!!!)

    Halloween Costumes

    Hiya Chummies!
Halloween is one of the funniest nights of the year! But can be really stressful when it comes to costumes... That is why, I am here, to guide you through this horrible process (from a hotel room in dubai). I am going as Izzy Lightwood from The Mortal Instruments which you can find out more about  in my book post. My friend Clara is going as clarrie... BFF's!! I will be doing a post in the Halloween party! ( if my dad lets me borrow his camera...) here is some help!

    Girls 12 (my age)
Now a lot of you will be thinking,
' am I too old for trick or treating?
What do I do if  I have no plans on Halloween!?
Am I too old for the traditional witches hat look?'
    The answer is.... NO
You are never too old for Halloween traditions, ever. If you don't have any plans on Halloween then make your own! You could go trick or treating with your little sister/brother ( if you have one ) Or you could get your friends over and make your own Halloween party!

    Types of Costumes:
    Book Characters
    Famous People
Scary things (duh) such as god I don't know, zombies witches etc...
Animals (see above) such as cats, mice or dogs! ( It's been done )
Alexa Chung Dressed as Anne Boleyn for a Halloween Ball
BeyoncĂ© dressed as a bee! Surprise surprise! For the same Halloween bash as Alexa Chung

    Beautiful Cornwall- October half term

    Hiya Chummies!
Sorry I haven't posted in aggges but my life has been very busy at the moment! Anyway, today I am going to be doing a post on Cornwall! I have been going to Cornwall (Polzeath) every holiday since I was 6. I'm not going to lie to you guys, it is quite a boring place in the non-summer holidays. All the traders are only here in the summer. The traders are people who sit on the beach and sell you good quality stuff. Some of them do Henna Tatoos, Hairbraids and sell little bracelets. Anyway, they aren't here which is annoying. Here are some pictures of the beautiful place! ( and my garden)......(and dog).....

I have no idea what I have done to the pictures...
I am in Polzeath at the moment!
I'm sorry this has had to be a short one but I am very busy.
    see ya later, Alligator!
